چکیده
Deeper wrinkles and loss of elasticity are one the skin-aging symptoms. Collagen breakdown by matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1), which is induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) pro-inflammatory cytokines, has been known to be responsible for these Therefore, much attention paid chemicals suppress MMP-1 activity. Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), catechin rich in green tea, reported show antioxidant protect skin from various stimuli such as UV chemicals. In this study, we evaluated inhibitory effect EGCG on gene expression secretion tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α)-treated human dermal fibroblast cells (Hs68 cells). Pre-treatment with (10 20 µM) suppressed TNF-α-induced secretion. also reduced phosphorylation extracellular signal regulated kinase (ERK) significantly but not that p38 activation c-Jun N-terminal (JNK). Besides, showed mitogen-activated protein (MEK) Src upstream proteins ERK pathway. Based results, might have potential activity slow down through inhibition collagen breakdown, remains elucidated.

Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), a green tea polyphenol suppresses bacilli-induced augmented expression of Mycobacterium tuberculosis 85B and proinflammatory TNF-α in human monocytes
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α), the hallmarks of tuberculosis, are directly induced in human monocytes by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB). We have previously shown that the expression of 85B in MTB infected monocytes correlates positively with both the amount of secreted TNF-α and subsequent mycobacterial growth. In this study, we show the augmented expression ...
متن کاملEpigallocatechin-3-gallate inhibits paclitaxel-induced apoptosis through the alteration of microRNA expression in human dermal papilla cells
Background: Paclitaxel well known as anti-cancer drug has been shown to cause alopecia in chemotherapy. The paclitaxel chemotherapy-mediated alopecia is induced by apoptotic damage in human dermal papilla (HDP) cells. Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) inhibits apoptosis against anti-cancer drug such as cisplatin. EGCG, one of the green tea extract ingredients, has been reported to enhance cell ...
متن کاملEpigallocatechin-3-gallate suppresses the global interleukin-1beta-induced inflammatory response in human chondrocytes
INTRODUCTION Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) is a bioactive polyphenol of green tea and exerts potent anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting signaling events and gene expression. Interleukin-1beta (IL-1β) is the principal cytokine linked to cartilage degradation in osteoarthritis (OA). The objective of this study was to evaluate the global effect of EGCG on IL-1β-induced expression of protei...
متن کاملEpigallocatechin-3-gallate Suppresses Galactose-α1,4-galactose-β1,4-glucose Ceramide Expression in TNF-α Stimulated Human Intestinal Epithelial Cells Through Inhibition of MAPKs and NF-κB
Intestinal epithelial cells (IECs) have been known to produce galactose-alpha1,4-galactose-beta1,4-glucose ceramide (Gb3) that play an important role in the mucosal immune response. The regulation of Gb3 is important to prevent tissue damage causing shiga like toxin. Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) has been studied as anti-carcinogenic, anti-oxidant, anti-angiogenic, and anti-viral activities...
متن کاملArecoline stimulated early growth response-1 production in human buccal fibroblasts: suppression by epigallocatechin-3-gallate.
BACKGROUND Early growth response-1 (Egr-1) protein plays an important role in many human fibrotic diseases. Areca nut chewing is the most important risk factor of oral submucous fibrosis (OSF). METHODS Egr-1 protein expression in OSF was examined using antibody to Egr-1. Arecoline-induced Egr-1 expression and its signaling pathways were assessed by Western blot analyses in human buccal mucosa...
